{"id":298,"date":"2019-07-02T17:50:11","date_gmt":"2019-07-02T17:50:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/r3fitness.com\/blog\/?p=298"},"modified":"2019-07-12T18:49:38","modified_gmt":"2019-07-12T18:49:38","slug":"low-carb-cauliflower-breadsticks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/r3fitness.com\/blog\/fat-loss\/low-carb-cauliflower-breadsticks\/","title":{"rendered":"Low Carb Cauliflower Breadsticks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients:<br \/>\n* 1 head cauliflower<br \/>\n* 1\/2 cup mozzarella cheese shredded<br \/>\n* 1\/2 cup parmesan cheese shaved<br \/>\n* 1 large egg<br \/>\n* 1\/2 tablespoon minced garlic<br \/>\n* 1\/2 tablespoon fresh basil chopped<br \/>\n* 1\/2 tablespoon fresh italian flat-leaf parsley chopped<br \/>\n* 1 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n* 1\/2 teaspoon black pepper<br \/>\n* 3\/4 cup mozzarella cheese shredded<\/p>\n<p>Instructions:<br \/>\n1.  Preheat oven to *425 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.<\/p>\n<p>2.  Rice the cauliflower by coring it and breaking it into florets.  Then place it in the<br \/>\nbowl of a food processor and pulse it until it is the texture of rice.  (if your<br \/>\ncauliflower seems excessively moist, squeeze the riced, raw cauliflower in a paper<br \/>\ntowel to help remove moisture).<\/p>\n<p>3.  In a large bowl, mix the riced cauliflower 1\/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese ,<br \/>\nparmesan cheese, egg, fresh garlic, fresh basil, fresh parsley, salt and pepper until<br \/>\ncombined and holds together.  Place the mixture onto the lined baking sheet<br \/>\nand<br \/>\nspread out into a rectangle about 9&#215;7&#8243; and 1\/4&#8243; thick.<\/p>\n<p>4.  Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 min.  Remove from oven and top with 3\/4<br \/>\ncup shredded mozzarella cheese and return to oven to continue baking until<br \/>\nthe cheese is melted and starting to brown.  Cool about 10 min and cut into<br \/>\nbreadsticks.  Garnish with fresh herbs and parmesan cheese.<\/p>\n<p>NOTES<br \/>\nThe number of breadsticks per serving will vary based on how thick you cut the breadsticks.  To control serving size, cut the sheet of cooked breadsticks into fifths first.
